Progator - an upgraded version of EuroLift

The Progator is an upgraded version of the EuroLift, a prostate enlargement procedure that can be customized in location and scope based on the size, shape, and length of the prostate and urethra. Instead of using clip ligation like EuroLift, it uses special threads to secure the prostate on either side of the urethra to create more urethral space.

While the conventional EuroLift method uses a one-point ligation for a single ligation, requiring multiple procedures, the Progator ligates at two points simultaneously in the form of a thread, saving time and money.

It's also a safe procedure with little foreign body sensation and a one-time ligation that allows for easy prostate compression control and can be revised at any time.

Benefits of the progator procedure

The main advantage of the Progator is that the degree of compression of the prostate tissue can be adjusted, allowing for a customized procedure for the patient. In addition, unlike the traditional EuroLift, it is possible to tie 2 points in a single ligation, which significantly saves time and money while providing good results. It is a safe procedure that even men over 80 years old can undergo.

In general, the Progator procedure is more effective than the EuroLift because ligation is performed at 2 points simultaneously. However, if the prostate is atypically or asymmetrically enlarged, the EuroLift may be a better choice because it is easier to compress only certain areas.

Progator Procedure

The Progator is a medical device designed to adjust the ligation site and degree of compression to account for the different prostate shapes, sizes, and urethral lengths of each patient.
This, along with the skill to adjust the length of the threads and the amount of compression, allows for a more customized treatment based on the individual's condition.

The BPH procedure is indicated for these people

Men often ignore the symptoms of BPH because they think it's an inevitable part of getting older. While it's true that bodily functions decline and urinary control becomes more difficult as we age, BPH is different from normal aging in that it's caused by an enlarged prostate gland.

If left untreated, it can lead to decreased urination, which can lead to problems with bladder or kidney function, or in severe cases, complications such as urinary tract infections, bladder stones, and impaired kidney function.

While both procedures are similar in that they tie and secure both sides of the prostate without resecting it, the EuroLift is more time and cost efficient because it can tie one point in a single ligation, while the ProGator can tie two points simultaneously.

Progators also have the advantage of being able to customize the procedure, as special threads can be used to adjust the ligation site and amount of compression.
