The word "Botox" is the brand name of an injectable made from botulinum toxin. The drug was originally developed to treat muscle spasms, but became popular worldwide when it was used for cosmetic purposes such as wrinkle reduction.

About Botox treatments
Results gradually begin to appear two to three days after your Botox treatment and peak after one to two weeks, lasting on average two to three months. The results may last longer for frown lines or wrinkles, but the small muscles around the eyes may lose their effect relatively quickly.
It usually slowly returns to normal after 6-8 months, so we recommend re-treatment every 4-5 months if you want lasting results.
